Fans need not worry, 50 Cent was only in prison as part of the shooting for his new video, "21 Questions." The huge success of his first single "In Da Club" is to be followed by the release of "21 Questions" which features Nate Dogg and then the third single and video for "Many Men (Wish Death)," both of which were filmed last weekend in L.A.
According to a MTV the clip for "21 Questions," which was directed by Dr. Dre and Phillip Atwell, sees 50 Cent spending some quality time with his girl at home when the authorities surround his house. He is taken to federal prison where he has spends time thinking about whether or not his girl will stay by his side now that the chips are down : "Girl ... It's easy to love me now/ Would you love me if I was down and out?/ Would you still have love for me?"
Nate Dogg croons the chorus from a nearby cell with radio personality Fatman Scoop also in the clip as an inmate. Tyson Beckford plays the role of 50's incarcerated adversary, who is said to do everything from impose on 50's phone time to attempt to hinder 50's conjugal visits. The video is said to end with a plot twist with 50 Cent clearly seeing his situation for what it is. The prison scenes in the clip were filmed at the closed Sybil Brand Institute Prison for Women.
The video for "Many Men" is seen through impaired vision at times as "There's blood in his eye and he can't see," as the song's lyrics go. The video shows 50 as the victim of a hit, Gabriel Cassius ("Lockdown," "New Jersey Drive") and Mekhi Phifer ("8 Mile," "Paid in Full"), are the two hired guns who set out to collect a $50,000 bounty. Surviving the gunshot wounds, on his road to recovery 50 discovers one of the 'many men' who want him dead is actually a close friend. He rounds up his troops, which include G-Unit member Lloyd Banks and "Tiny Zeus" Lister, to take out revenge. Henry Simmons of "NYPD Blue" and Adam Rodriguez and Rory Cochrane of "CSI Miami" make appearences in the video with Jessy Terrero, who directed "In Da Club," also taking charge on this clip.
